Federation of trade unions has a special role in Belarusian society

The FTU is one of the foundations of civil society to protect workers and social justice. Alexander Lukashenko announced that at the 8th Congress of the association. 500 delegates from all over the country arrived in Minsk to discuss various and even urgent issues. The Belarusian leader supported and developed the ideas of trade unions, like updating the labor code, issues of labor protection and wages. A draft law is being developed.

Trade unions are able to defend the rights of the citizens. Alexander Lukashenko ordered to prepare a decree on the creation of primary organizations in private enterprises, that will allow employees to be confident in future. The Head of the State discussed other pressing issues: the pension system requires serious repairs. The President called on the Federation of Trade Unions to continue active monitoring of prices on the most necessary food products.

Much work remains to be done at enterprises. Problematic production must be saved. The delegates took much of the President's speech into account.

The President handed over the state flag to the Federation of Trade Unions for special achievements in socio-economic development, protection of the rights and interests of citizens of Belarus.
