Problems of Belarusian science to be discussed at Second Congress of Scientists

12 декабря 2017

The Second Congress of Scientists opens in Minsk today. Delegations from all regions will represent the scientific elite of the country. Well-known scientists of the CIS and world research centers will come to the Belarusian capital. On the first day of the forum, panel discussions will be held on the priorities of development and international cooperation.

Mikhail Shvydkoy, the Special Presidential Envoy for International Cultural Cooperation: "In today's world, which is changing very rapidly, scientific cooperation is paramount for creating digital economy, or the so-called Economy 4.0. It is obvious that today science is the engine of industry. Earlier we talked about the application of some discoveries to production. Today, though, these scientific discoveries are an industry in themselves."

The Development Strategy for science and technology until 2040 will become the result of the two-day work of the delegates. The authors of the document are confident that the future is in electric transport, unmanned vehicles, and bio-technologies. All the latest developments of scientists will be presented at thematic exhibitions.
