The first All-Belarusian People's Assembly according to the rules stipulated in the updated Constitution and the Law on the National Assembly will be held in April 2024. This was stated to reporters by Deputy Head of the Presidential Executive Office before the board of the Ministry of Justice. Olga Chupris also commented on the presidential decree to consider applications of those wishing to return home, noting that the document developed by the Prosecutor General's Office jointly with the Presidential Executive Office is interesting from a legal point of view.

Olga Chuprys, Deputy Head of the Presidential Executive Office of Belarus:

“It cannot change those procedural rules that are established by the norms of criminal procedural law. If anyone had expectations in this regard, it should be understood that the President can't violate the rules of law and make other decisions, because the CPC itself does not allow him to do so.”

At the same time, said Olga Chuprys, the Prosecutor General has a wide range of powers in the field of criminal procedure. He has the right to give certain guarantees to people who have decided to return, taking into account the situation, the appeals received and the severity of the offense. "And the Prosecutor General has all the possibilities for this. I think we have thought of everything in this part," said the Deputy Head of the Presidential Executive Office.
