Belarusian Armed Forces enhance security of southern border

The Armed Forces of Belarus continue carrying out the task set by the head of state to strengthen the border in the southern direction. The focus is on countering possible threats. Special operations forces units are carrying out tasks in the designated areas.

The main purpose of such field missions is to ensure the safety of Belarusians and to prevent possible violations of state borders. Another vector is the elimination of weapons and ammunition supply channels. Important facilities, roads and overpasses, are taken under protection.

Vadim Bobilevich, deputy commander of the SDF brigade of the Armed Forces of Belarus:

“Our brigade fulfills the tasks of strengthening the state border in the southern direction. We have been here for quite a long time, but thanks to regular deliveries of materials and food we are able to perform the task without a break at any time. We serve in a constant state of alert. Along with the contract servicemen, enlisted servicemen also perform combat missions with us. I can say that our soldiers are the most trained soldiers, they are the most motivated soldiers. I'm ready to do any kind of mission with them.”

For the personnel of special operations forces, the task of strengthening state border protection is not new. Since last year all the brigades are assisting the Belarusian border guards in protection of state borders from Brest to Gomel in the south.
