Breast Cancer Day celebrated today

It is no coincidence that it is marked in the world calendar. Doctors of the world say that this disease ranks first in terms of cancer pathologies in women. According to the WHO, this year about 15 million women fell ill with breast cancer, including 5 thousand Belarusian women.
Oncologists name three reasons for the explosion in women's cancer statistics. The first is common for any type of cancer: bad ecology, unhealthy diet, stress. The second reason is exclusively female. And the third reason why breast cancer is in the first lines is the improvement of the quality of diagnosis. The Ministry of Health, with government support, is implementing a screening program that covers the female population of the entire republic. It would seem that this diagnostic improvement increases the statistics, but it also does a good job: it detects cancer in the early (first and second) stages, which increases the survival rate and the success of cure.
Diagnostic capabilities in Belarus meet all global criteria. The industry leader, Aleksandrov Republican Scientific, and Practical Center, is equipped with the most modern diagnostic equipment. There is computed tomography, PET-CT, molecular genetic laboratory, morphological and cytological services. Highly qualified specialists are everywhere. Together with diagnosis and practice, many oncologists are engaged in science: they study cancer, its still unfamiliar mutations, and forms.
Belarusian oncologists give a chance even with advanced forms of cancer. The modern emphasis is on the prospect of treating difficult patients with immunotherapy using special vaccines. Chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery remain the classic areas of treatment.
A well-thought-out policy of oncologists is to minimize mutilation. So, among the know-how operations are surgery without a scalpel, the so-called gamma knife, which acts pointwise on hard-to-reach areas of the body. For example, such a radiological scalpel can remove tumors in the head. Brain metastases are a possible complication of breast cancer. For oncologists and mammologists, cancer is a personal enemy. Every Belarusian specialist dreams of making such an invention that would put an end to the history of female diseases. However, the problem is not only for women - doctors advise men not to relax. The number of breast cancer in the male half is increasing.
