If we are to live on, our memory should live on.  Such a thesis was voiced today in Molodechno, where the exhibition "The memory and pain of the Minsk land" was opened. On the eve of July 3, Regional Museum of Local Lore presented an exhibition, the creation of which was attended by prosecutors. Many elements of the exhibition are interactive. The prosecutor's office together with the search battalion and the Investigation Committee are now excavating and discovering new facts about the criminal case of genocide of the Belarusian people. The terrible figures were also announced: during the Great Patriotic War fascist invaders completely or partially burned 1 528 villages together with their inhabitants in Minsk Region alone.

Alexander Turchin, Chairman of the Minsk Region Executive Committee:

The President supported our idea to build a museum in Khatyn. Not only did he support it, but he helped implement it by giving the appropriate instruction. Today we are building a new museum there intensively. We are carrying out large-scale restoration work and have more than one youth team working there. The most important thing now is that we work intensively on filling this museum.

Andrei Shved, Prosecutor General of Belarus:

People have to know the truth. Especially young people should know the truth. I think that the most important thing is to make every young person, every pupil, every student at least once in their life should not only visit such a place, but they should feel the horror of the years of Nazi occupation, understand what fascism is and realize that if we forget it, it will happen again.

And today the book "The Genocide of the Belarusian People" edited by our country's Prosecutor General Andrei Shved was presented in Molodechno. Within the framework of the criminal case, more than 15 thousand witnesses have been interviewed, half of them are the living voices of that terrible era - former concentration camp prisoners.
