14 мая 2023

On May 14, the love for the country was manifested by Belarusian people on Flag Square. On the Day of State Symbols, a solemn ceremony of honoring the emblem, flag and anthem of Belarus was held here.

These symbols are the main keepers of our history. The holiday dedicated to their creation was established 25 years ago. Since then, Belarusians have kept this tradition every second Sunday of May. Today, 5 thousand people simultaneously sang the anthem on the square and swore an oath to the state symbols. It is a promise to love one's country, to be professional in one's job, to remember that the world was won by our grandfathers and to preserve this won independence. The Prime Minister sent greetings from the President to the audience.

Roman Golovchenko, Prime Minister of Belarus

“Dear compatriots, I cordially congratulate you on the Day of the State Emblem, State Flag and State Anthem of the Republic of Belarus. These symbols embody the memory of generations, reflect the national self-consciousness and the intricate historical journey of the people. They link together the past, the present and the future of the Belarusian state. Our truly national flag, emblem and anthem are comprehensible and truthful, they preserve worldly wisdom, keep spiritual power and inspire for new accomplishments. Striving for peace, loyalty to one's native land and readiness to create for the sake of future generations have at all times helped Belarusians to be true to themselves and their principles.”
