Belarus manages to cope with the challenges of modernity by joint efforts. This was noted by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of our country at the opening of the meeting of the Advisory Council for Belarusians abroad. Sergei Aleinik also emphasized that "Belarus appreciates the positive contribution of Belarusians abroad in delivering truthful information about our country".
The event was attended by representatives of the diaspora from different parts of the world, including the European Union and the United States. Belarusians in the States have their own opinion about the illegal sanctions against our country.
Alla Sandler, representative of Belarusian diaspora in Washington, D.C. (USA):
We realize that sanctions mainly affect ordinary people. We try, but, unfortunately, they do not always listen to our voices. If we had the opportunity, things would certainly be different. But we hope for the best.
The meeting also summarized the results of joint work for the year and discussed prospects for the future.
