Thus, another humanitarian cargo from a friendly country was delivered to Minsk today. The Chinese plane delivered 100 thousand doses of the new type of coronavirus vaccine.
The aircraft with the humanitarian cargo landed at the Minsk National Airport at 17:30. Unlike other vaccines, this drug does not require special transportation; it was delivered at a temperature of plus two degrees. The received medicines will be delivered to the warehouses of the Ministry of Health. The drug, which was developed by the major Chinese pharmaceutical company, was donated. The relevant documents were solemnly signed today by Minister of Health of Belarus Dmitry Pinevich and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Belarus Xie Xiaoyong. It should be reminded that on January 26, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko and President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping agreed on the supply of the Chinese vaccine by telephone.
The drug itself is an inactivated vaccine or, as it is also called, a "killed" vaccine. The medicine consists of bacterial or viral microorganisms that do not show pathogenic activity. By the way, the use of such inactivated vaccines will avoid a large number of infected people. In tests, it showed 79.34% efficiency.
Today, the fight against a pandemic is a common matter. And such support for each other is one of the components of the strategic partnership between Belarus and China. At the beginning of the coronavirus epidemic in the Middle Kingdom, our country sent two planes there with the help of medicines, masks, gowns, gloves and disinfectants. And in the spring and summer of last year, return flights with medicines were delivered to Belarus carrying more than 115 tons of cargo in total. And the fact that China once again lends its shoulder at the right moment demonstrates not only great friendship between the two countries, but also a common concern for the health of our peoples.
