January 1, 2024 will mark the 105th anniversary of the Belarusian Soviet Socialist Republic, which existed for almost 73 years.

The historical path was discussed on December 22 in the National Academy of Sciences. A round table was held there, which was attended by historians, scientists, as well as political and state figures. Some joined online. The events that took place at that time undoubtedly laid the foundation, the heritage became a strong foundation, emphasized Igor Lutskiy, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration.

Igor Lutsky, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of Belarus:

“Historical science should constantly nourish the society with new research in this field. We have forgotten our Soviet past for some time, in fact, we live and are based on the achievements that were created by the Soviet people. January 1, 1919 is the date when our country was politically organized; we can say that this is the start of the development of Belarusians. It was a serious period that allowed the current modern state to stand powerfully on the foundation.”

"Without the BSSR there would be neither the territory of the republic, nor the people, nor the authorities, nor the great achievements in economy, culture and science, which were and are," said Sergei Tretyak, head of the Department of Modern History of Belarus at the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
