Scientists of Belarus and China will work together on chemical technologies in a new laboratory. A symbolic opening of an innovation center took place in the Academy of Sciences.

The project is the result of the visit of scientists from the Academy of Sciences of the Chinese province of Shandong. This is the second largest region of China, with a population of more than 100 million people.

Sergei Chizhik, the First Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus: "The Metal-Polymer Research Institute in Gomel signed an agreement on the creation of a joint laboratory. Our priority is heat-resistant materials that can be used on the railway as a layer between the rail and the railway sleeper to make roads faster."

Wang Yinglong, the President of the Academy of Sciences of Shandong, China: "This is my sixth visit to Belarus in four years. The cooperation between our Academies of Sciences has advanced greatly. Apart from energy and chemistry, we are also interested in cooperation in IT."

Further energy projects are also expected to be implemented. Scientists from the two countries will work together to develop technologies for illuminating the underwater space, as well as for growing plants.
