Orthodox Christians mark beginning of Dormition Fast

The Dormition Fast, dedicated to the Virgin Mary, is compared to the Lent in its austerity. The first day of the Dormition Fast is called Honey Spas. Today, believers are bringing honey and water to church for consecration.
