Savinykh: Belarus and Russia are becoming the guardians of European traditions and European values

Two systems of values are now in conflict in the world: collectivist and individualist, traditional and new neoliberal anti-human doctrine. Chairman of the Standing Committee on International Affairs of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Andrei Savinykh told about it in the radio program "Actual Microphone".

According to the politician, the conflict of this level has appeared for the first time on a global scale. "Traditional values have been formed for at least the last two thousand years. There are traditional values in China, India and other regions, and they differ. We have formed values of humanistic values, values of revitalization, culture, Christian morality. Let's look carefully, what was the first serious social project that proclaimed the equality of all people? It was Jesus Christ, - reminded the deputy. - Christ, who said: for me, "there is neither Hellene nor Jew, but all men are equal before God". This is the most powerful civilizational transformation, which laid the foundation for an entire system."

Social communal values of collective labor, values when people share benefits, were formed in the Soviet period as well, and existed earlier in the format of, for example, Belarusian toloka, the parliamentarian says. "These are all communal values. And today they have come into conflict with the ideology of neoliberalism."

The politician pointed out that the liberal ideas that were formed in the 19th century respected the right of every person to a decent life, the right of an individual to work and pursue some interests, but in the 1980s these liberal ideas were transformed into neoliberalism. "Then it was proclaimed that not society, not the state, not religion, but only the market determines whether a person has the right to be successful or not. The market - a soulless being - must give a verdict on what should live and what should die. This leads to the situation characterized by philosopher Hobbes: "war of all against all", when there is a fierce competition between people, when some lose, others win, the strongest survives. This is the animal beginning, the natural principle, which suddenly found itself at the center of the development of human civilization, which was based on completely different principles," he explained.

Andrei Savinykh:

The conflict between traditional values, humanistic values and total individualism and neoliberalism is the conflict of the 21st century. It is not a conflict between religions. It is a conflict between antagonistic value systems.

The politician emphasized that those who defend Christian or Confucian morality, or the Islamic set of moral laws (they all come almost from the same root), defend traditional humanistic values, while neoliberals want to abandon the teachings of Christ because they are in the way. " "They want to abandon all other kinds of traditional religions as well. They are forming a new morality where only force can be the criterion. And this is a very serious fact."

Andrei Savinykh:

The countries that are controlled by neoliberals, (which is now the United States of America and Western Europe), these countries are leaving the standards of European civilization. And we, our countries, are becoming the guardians of European traditions, European values, starting literally from the beginning of the Christian era.
