By Olga Anischenko: Non-Belarus citizens visiting the country will have the possibility to stay in Belarus for up to 30 days without a visa. The decree was signed yesterday by the President. The main condition for foreign visitors remains the same – they must enter and leave Belarus only via the National Airport Minsk.

The visa –free regime was first introduced in February 2017. The initiative was taken to attract more tourists, and it worked. The list of those who have visited the country since includes citizens of 80 states. Among them are EU countries, the US, Canada, Brazil, Indonesia, Japan, and many others. As of last year, 80 thousand tourists visited the country.

As before, those who stay for over five days need registration. Law enforcement officers promise, though, that soon these conditions will become still more lenient.

During a year, tourists can stay in Belarus for up to 90 days. In the case of visa-free travel, tourists can visit the country several times a year.

The new visa-free travel format comes into force immediately after the official publication. The document is expected to be released in the near future.
