President signs order on additional measures to help population

Additional measures to address people's issues are prescribed in the presidential decree, which was signed today. This is a comprehensive document that updated the urgent topics, which concern the population both in large cities and in the regions. The Head of the State set a task for the Presidential Administration to work more actively with Belarusians, to be more attentive to their problems. Mobile receptions were organized in the regions, information from executive committees was analyzed, and people's appeals and applications were monitored. Most of the appeals were received when collecting signatures of voters by the initiative group of the current President.

Mikhail Orda, Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus: "Alexander Lukashenko has set an important task for the members of the initiative group №1 in the process of collecting signatures to discuss, ask, fix the questions and problems that people have. Their appeals were thoroughly analyzed and some of them were transferred to local authorities for their solution. And those issues that concern pricing, medical care, and education were resolved."

The measures prescribed in the document cover medicine, housing and utilities, housing construction, road reconstruction, and services areas. Important areas are social policy, pricing, and payment of salaries. The order will allow one to coordinate the work of all interested parties.

Igor Sergeyenko, Head of the Presidential Administration of Belarus: "They can be divided into two blocks:  the strategic tasks for the government, and specific measures that may be implemented this year, the development of specific regions, the implementation of specific programs. It is planned to build a number of social facilities, including in the educational system, preschool institutions in a number of cities like Dzerzhinsk, Soligorsk, Zaslavl, issues of the development of Mogilev, Polotsk, Pinsk and many other parts of the country.

Serious attention was paid to housing policy issues, further development, allocation of funds for the construction of rental housing, housing for military personnel, as well as the development of urban military facilities. That is, this order reflects both priority tasks and strategic ones". 

The document will form the basis of a plan of specific measures aimed at resolving these issues. And its performance will be under the personal control of Alexander Lukashenko. The Presidential Administration together with the State Control Committee will monitor the implementation of the measures taken and report quarterly to the Head of State.
