President of Belarus tells young people about his Komsomol past

On October 24, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko told about his Komsomol past at a meeting with youth activists at the Palace of Independence, BelTA informs.

The head of state was asked what holidays and traditions existed in his student years.

The President shared that he worked in a student team in land reclamation: "This is not a very common job. I think we worked in Klimovichi District. This was a great experience. I know land reclamation very well.

Alexander Lukashenko also pointed out that the topic of land reclamation is relevant nowadays. "This year we have allocated decent funds. In five years we will fully restore what was missed. And we will additionally introduce areas for the expansion of agricultural lands. Agriculture is developing," the President emphasized.

He drew attention to the importance of developing livestock breeding and providing fodder for it. At the same time, the head of state emphasized that it is necessary to take a very reasonable approach to the topic of land reclamation, and not as in the past, when sometimes land was drained thoughtlessly.

"The periods of my work in the real sector of the economy were very important," said Alexander Lukashenko. At the same time, he pointed out that he has always been drawn to nature.

"Nobody sent me there, I asked for it myself," he said about his path to agriculture. - I grew up in the countryside."
