Celebrations to mark Culture Workers' Day to take place in all regions of Belarus

Celebrations will take place in all regions of Belarus on the occasion of the Day of Cultural Workers, which is observed on October 9 this year, BelTA reports.

On October 5, Grodno, Mogilev, Baranovichi and Vitebsk will host regional festive events with concert programs and a ceremony honoring the best workers of the field, while in Minsk, Molodechno and Gomel  the festivities will be held on October 7.

On the next day, M. Gorky National Academic Drama Theater will host a national event with delegations of performers  from the regions and the capital. The employees of the Ministry of Culture as well as specialists from other departments, involved in the preparation of legal acts in the sphere of culture, will be awarded. 

After the gala event there will be a show of the rock opera "The Count of Monte Cristo" directed by the artistic director of the theater, honored worker of arts of Belarus Sergey Kovalchik. 

The Ministry of Culture believes that the professional holiday is a perfect occasion to say good words and present well-deserved awards to those people, who contributed to the development of the Belarusian culture and the spiritual well-being of the society.

Day of Culture Workers was established in 1998 by the decree of President Alexander Lukashenko in recognition of the workers of culture in Belarus.
