Why do Belarusian agricultural producers eagerly grow winter rape?

Rapeseed is both a profitable and non-wasteful crop. Firstly, it is a sought-after raw material for the production of edible vegetable oil. Secondly, the protein in the diet of animals. And this is good milk yields and, in general, an even higher quality of Belarusian dairy products and meat on store shelves. 

What are the advantages of these crops, why agricultural producers willingly go to the cultivation of winter rape? 

Dmitry Luzhinsky, Deputy General Director of the Scientific and Research Center of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus on Agriculture, answered this question.

"Rapeseed is one of the most profitable and productive crops. And its cultivation, starting with a yield of 20-25 quintals per hectare, is a highly profitable business. Therefore, farms willingly go to the cultivation of winter rape. As a whole winter rape is cultivated more than 4 thousand hectares in the country," the Belarusian scientist said. - But we must bear in mind that it is more profitable for the economy and for our producers to produce our own rapeseed oil and use it to produce food and chemical products, paintwork products. The oil can also be used as a source of fuel, because biodiesel is nothing but transformed vegetable oil".
