5 февраля 2020
The International Book Fair opened at the BelExpo complex. It is visited by heads and employees of the leading publications, popular ajthors, literary critics, publishers and marketers from 30 countries. Our forum is rightly called one of the largest in the post-Soviet space. The guest of honor this year is Russia, and the central exhibitor is the United States of America. The program includes more than 500 events not only in Minsk, but all over the country - in bookstores, libraries, museums, universities, and schools.

This year Minsk International Book Fair has 386 exhibitors. With so many offers, it will take guests at least a few hours to get around all the stands. Although, it should be noted that it's quite easy to navigate at the exhibition with special info booklets.

The official opening was at noon. The State Secretary of the Union State gave a start to the forum. Grigory Rapota did not miss the occasion and, in addition to protocol functions,  personally walked through the exposition.

Russia is this year's guest of honor. The neighbors' program includes presentations of book novelties, including the categories of nonfiction, children's literature, as well as special series.  It is the Russian pavilion that will become the venue for master classes and discussions with popular authors. Among them are Alexandra Marinin and Tatiana Ustinova, besides, the exhibition will be visited by Yuri Norstein, the creator of the "Hedgehog in the Fog".

The fair will continue until February 9.
