Belarus has started to produce a new brand of passenger cars. This was announced by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko at the meeting on improving the system of planning and control over the implementation of strategic projects, reports BELTA.
During the grand opening of the BELGEE plant in November 2017, Alexander Lukashenko said that his dream is to produce a domestic passenger car in Belarus had come true. Over the years, the level of localization at the plant has grown significantly, and the production volume has increased big time. Today, it is safe to say that the Belarusian Geely has become a truly popular car.
"Today it is already a queue for Geely. The cars are both beautiful externally, and have a high quality. Today we have already set our sights not on 30-40 thousand cars a year, but on 120 thousand," said Alexander Lukashenko.
The President reminded that Belarus intends to create production in cooperation with the Chinese FAV Group. The most famous brand of the corporation is a passenger car Hongqi ("Hongqi" - translates as "red flag").
