According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, 1500 tourists come to Belarus every year under the visa-free regime. Such openness is profitable, but security remains a priority. Almost a year after the visa-free regime was established, five hundred violators were registered in Belarus. The violations mainly concerned the delay of stay for more than five days. However, there were those who visited Russia during this time, which is forbidden in the visa-free regime.
In the near future, negotiations with the competent authorities of the Russian Federation will be continued. The Russian side insists that the agreement on mutual recognition of visas and permits should be applied in the first quarter of this year due to the World Cup in football.
