Alexander Khorovtets: Specialists worry about the decrease of bird populations in Europe. In order to track the migration of say cuckoos the ornithologists catch them and put rings with special sensors on them. Such censors allow tracking their movement.
Cuckoos stay in Europe no longer than 2 months. After that they travel to South and Central America.
Phil Atkinson, ornithologist: The population of cuckoo in Europe is rapidly shrinking. It reduced twicefold during 25 years. Yet, in Belarus the population of cuckoo preserved.
The objective of the expedition is to catch 10 birds in Belarus. After that t the migration of cuckoo from Europe to Africa will be studied.
