Minister of Internal Affairs Ivan Kubrakov at a meeting with the head of state voiced the proposals to be introduced into the draft law on amnesty. It is proposed to be held this year and timed to coincide with the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from Nazi invaders, reports BelTA.

"The proposals, developed by the Interior Ministry to declare an amnesty for the 80th anniversary of Belarus' liberation from Nazi invaders, were generally supported by the President. However, the task was set to elaborate specifically on each proposal. Special attention was paid to underage children who have been brought to criminal responsibility. The President also paid attention to women who have underage children, mothers of many children," said the Minister after the meeting.

Answering the question about the timing of the bill's introduction in Parliament, Ivan Kubrakov said: "Specific terms have not yet been stipulated. We will discuss it with the Presidential Administration, and the bill on amnesty will be submitted to the Parliament". However, the minister did not rule out that it might take place before the upcoming single voting day elections in February.
