Ministry of Emergency Situations holds parade in Minsk to mark Day of Fire Service

A show on the water was performed by rescuers during the parade on the eve of the Day of Fire Service. On the Svisloch River in Gorky Park, fire fighters of the Ministry of Emergency Situations demonstrated special equipment used when working on water and on land. Everyone could see for themselves how difficult this profession is.

Vladimir Vashchenko, the Minister for Emergency Situations of Belarus:

"Uusually, we receive feedback from those we help, those people who get into trouble. But judging by the numerous responses, incoming letters, and words of gratitude we receive these days, the level of our rescuers is quite high. They are ready to perform any tasks and solve any problems. And we have everything for this. You saw our equipment today."

In the morning, a parade of rescuers and equipment of the Ministry of Emergencies took place in Nezavisimosti Avenue in Minsk. Special-purpose vehicles drove went along from the Minsk Circus to Victory Square. The rescuers of the Ministry of Emergencies marched along, too. Thousands of spectators watched the parade.
