30 мая 2014
Yakub Kolas, whose real name is Konstantin Mitskevich, participated in World War I serving on the Romanian front line. During World War II, Kolas lost his middle son who went missing near Moscow. The poet's entire archive burnt down. Being Vice President of the Belarusian Academy of Sciences, Yakub Kolas was evacuated to Tashkent.

The exhibition in Kaliningrad features mainly the documentary part of the fund's archive: correspondence with Soviet poets, Kolas' manuscripts and photographs. The most valuable artifacts still remain in Minsk, with copies made for the Kaliningrad exhibition.
