One of the most significant events for the anniversary of the city was held on Pobediteley Avenue. Near the Stele Minsk - Hero City tribute was paid to those who gave their lives for the liberation of the capital and all of Belarus from fascist invaders.
By tradition, wreaths and flowers were laid at the foot of the obelisk by Minsk authorities, representatives of public associations, veterans and youth. Among the participants of the ceremony are delegations from Nottingham, Bishkek, Belgrade and Beijing.
Minsk schoolchildren and cadets of the Suvorov School made their own gift for the anniversary of the city: a solemn mass procession to the applause of their parents and guests of the holiday.
