Ready for landing! Working briefing of Roscosmos and Rosaviatsia held in Karaganda

The Soyuz MS-24 crew is ready for landing both medically and psychologically.

Our Marina Vasilevskaya, the crew commander, Roscosmos cosmonaut Oleg Novitsky (a native of Belarus) and NASA astronaut are preparing to land on April 6 in the Kazakh steppe. A working briefing was held in Karaganda on April 4. Pilots, rescuers, medics, meteorologists reported on the situation and readiness of services. To timely detect the device and ensure the safety of the crew, specialists will be on duty in the areas of Zhezkazgan and Arkalyk. The weather for Saturday in Kazakhstan is good. Nevertheless, there are nuances: recently there were strong floods. However, the crew is ready. Landing on the water was practiced in the Star City.

Anatoly Mikhalishchev, head of the operational and technical group:

“All preliminary work was done, taking into account the nature of the terrain, the weather, because it is possible that the underlying surface will be wet or swampy. Particular emphasis has been placed on checking rescue equipment such as a boat, inflatable belts of the apparatus and preparation of all crew members for evacuation of the descent vehicle. The group that will do this is also prepared and checked.”
