Belarusian border guards have noted a significant increase in foreign citizens’ attempts to illegally cross the country’s border to find a better life, as announced during today’s press conference dedicated to International Migrants Day. According to data provided by the Belarusian Foreign Ministry, over 26,000 people have arrived in Belarus this year.

The number of foreigners wishing to work in Belarus is growing annually, which in a way testifies to an increase in the country’s migration attractiveness. An important role is also played by investment activities. In the first half of 2015, more than 700 Russian, 250 Kazakh and 170 Armenian citizens moved to Belarus for work. The number of Belarusians annually entering Russia for various purposes is ranging within 300,000 people.
