Works of young documentary filmmakers to be demonstrated on screens of Minsk

6 октября 2022
Minsk hosts the international festival "Eurasia. DOC". This year it is held in two cities. 16 films have been already presented in Smolensk. The second half of the short films festival will be held in theater house "Belarus".

The films are dedicated to the theme of the Great Patriotic War, the collapse of the Soviet Union, and current events including the conflict in Ukraine. The contestants from the EU countries captured the true facts in their lenses. Such films are unlikely to be shown in their own countries. The main peculiarity of the festival is an opportunity of live discussion of the films at the dialogue platforms. Master classes are also on the program. Before selecting the finalists, the jurors watched 270 films.

Andrey Krivosheev, Executive Director of Eurasia.doc Festival, Chairman of the Belarusian Union of Journalists: For the first time, the Chinese colleagues have sent more than 20 works. They are very interested in participation within the framework of our festival. We have an excellent work from Lebanon - a very unexpected reading of the theme of an abandoned person, the theme of the condition and situation of refugees. That is, the film explains why there was such a crisis on the Belarusian-Polish border last year.

The documentaries of the festival "Eurasia.DOC" tell about little-known people, as well as stories of the "little man" in the big world. The winners will be determined and the results will be announced tomorrow.
