European barbed wire causes death of two roe deer

European barbed wire caused the death of two roe deer. This is reported by BelTA with reference to the State Border Committee.

The carcasses of two roedeer were found in Ivie and Postavy districts on October 6 with an interval of several hours. In both cases, the animals were unable to get out of the Lithuanian barbed wire and died from multiple wounds.

Since the beginning of the week, the EU border fences have killed five wild animals. Since last September, the border infrastructure of Lithuania, Latvia and Poland caused the death of 36 wild animals.
