"It's like going into outer space!" - That's how the polar explorers themselves referred to the first intracontinental scientific trek in the history of our expeditions. Of course, the field work was organized before, but the length of the routes was several times shorter, and the scientific component was less extensive. And now on the eve of the professional holiday, the participants of the 15th Belarusian Antarctic Expedition have made a march to the previously unexplored region of the Antarctic continental part.

The distance from the field camp was 200 kilometers - the polar explorers laid the route, examined the mountain massif and hoisted the state flag of the Republic of Belarus on its peak. At the same time the expedition members installed the flags of the National Academy of Sciences and the Belarusian Trade Union of Education and Science. Thus they congratulated their colleagues and all their compatriots on the Day of Belarusian Science.

During the trip, sampling of natural materials, measurements within the framework of the national space program, tasks in bio- and eco fields, and much more researches were carried out. However, by expanding the research geography our polar explorers strengthened such an important factor as presence on the sixth continent of the planet. The Belarusian Antarctic team shared the footage of the expedition, their impressions and interim results of the unique scientific operation with the TV News Agency
