Inspection of Belarusian Army launched

A comprehensive inspection of military formations and units has been launched today by the order of the Head of State. Its main feature is the unplanned character. Particular attention is to be paid to the professionalism of the officials, readiness of territorial troops to perform assigned tasks, as well as to the state of equipment and weapons. On the eve of the World Hockey Championship, organization of protection of important objects, transport communications and the state border acquires greater importance.


Alexander Mezhuev, State Secretary of the Security Council: It is a surprise inspection: military units as well as the staffs of different levels will have to deal with the tasks that cannot be prepared on the spot, but only in the course of painstaking daily work during the whole year.


One more focus area of the inspection is Air and Air Defense Forces. Their readiness will be examined, including by control purposes flights. For the first time, antiaircraft missile battery Tor-M2 will be tested in Belarus. The inspection results will be carefully analyzed and used for the further development of the Armed Forces.
