Military experts talk about the main results of the CSTO summit held in Minsk, as well as its key agenda points.

"First of all, it is summarizing the results of Belarus' chairmanship in the CSTO during the year. No one can reproach Belarus for treating the chairmanship formally or ineffectively. A lot has been done," said Andrei Chernobai, military analyst of the Belarusian Institute for Strategic Studies.

Andrei Chernobai also noted such an important result: during the presidency of Belarus, the Collective Security Treaty Organization did not become a party to the conflict in Ukraine or in the South Caucasus. Otherwise, if the CSTO had intervened, the consequences could have been unpredictable. According to the expert, the CSTO continues to be a structure that aims to ensure security and prevent conflicts on the territory of the member states.

Andrei Bogodel, deputy head of the General Staff Department of the Armed Forces of the Military Academy of Belarus, in his turn, said: "The main result that can be stated is that this organization continues to exist and develop as a military-political union. There is no alternative to the Collective Security Treaty Organization."
