This week Belarus will celebrate one of the most famous holidays of the armed forces - Tankman Day. By tradition, it is celebrated on the second Sunday of September. The holiday takes its beginning in July 1946 in honor of the merits of armored and mechanized troops in the Great Patriotic War. Today the tank troops of the Belarusian army are represented by modernized models of Soviet equipment including the most massive tank in the world T-72. These machines with the latest improvements are not inferior to many modern tanks. This was proved more than once by our military during various exercises and Army Games.
On the occasion of the holiday, a large-scale reconstruction of a tank battle will be made on Saturday on Stalin Line, with participation of the original equipment of the war time. On Sunday, the holiday will be celebrated in Victory Park in Minsk, where a real army base will unfold.
