Orthodox Book Day is celebrated in all dioceses of the Russian Orthodox Church on March 14. The holiday has been celebrated in Belarus since 2011 and is timed to the publication of the Apostle and the first Bible in Eastern Slavic lands, printed by Francis Skoryna.
In honor of the celebration, the exhibition center of St. Elizabeth Monastery "Kovcheg" presented an exhibition the "Reading City", as well as educational seminars, book reviews and meetings with writers from Belarus and Russia. During the week the organizers plan to show through the history of the Orthodox book how the relationship between the Orthodox Church and society has changed.
