New Year changes. Base value amounts to 29 rubles

1 января 2021
From January 1, the base value changes annually. Now it is 29 rubles. And this is plus 2 rubles to the level of last year. The growth of the base affects the size of fines, state duties, social benefits, and some other payments. They all grow automatically!

From January 1, the size of the base rate will also increase. This indicator is used in calculating the labor of employees of budgetary organizations. The rate has increased by 10 rubles and since the new year is 195 rubles. At the same time, it is planned to increase the base rate again during the year! The Ministry of Finance has calculated that thus state employees will receive a salary increase of 5.4%. The increase will affect 800 000 employees.

As for the minimum wage, from January 1 it will also grow up to 400 rubles. And this is almost 7% more than a year earlier.

The country continues to raise the retirement age. In the new year, it will be 57 years 6 months for women, and 62 years 6 months for men. Also, the minimum length of insurance required to receive a labor pension will increase to 18 years.
Both the retirement age and the insurance experience are growing at an equal rate by 6 months annually.

From January 1, women who have given birth to 4 children will include a period of maternity leave of up to 12 years in their work experience. Previously there were only 9! They will be assigned labor pensions if they have at least 20 years of work experience (instead of 17 years and 6 months), but the insurance period will also be reduced to 10 years!

Good news for future parents too! From January 1, couples can count on one free IVF attempt. The state budget will cover the cost of an expensive procedure. It is important to comply with several conditions: a woman must be married and under the age of 40.

The changes will also affect the Belarusian public catering, where plastic was banned from January 1! The list of prohibited items includes disposable forks, spoons, and knives, as well as glasses, plates, drinking straws, and cups, and also packaging by the type of containers or trays. The ban will not affect, perhaps, only disposable lids for cups: there is no alternative to them anywhere in the world!
