This was reported today by chief obstetrician-gynecologist of the Health Ministry Svetalana Soroka. According to her, these data were published in Save the Children's State of the World's Mothers report. Belarus also occupies the 33rd position among almost 170 countries in the world's ratings. In recent years there has been a serious decline in infant and maternal mortality, Svetlana Soroka says. The birth rate, however, has been growing steadily for the past ten years.
