Belarus and Russia to jointly develop new satellites in near future

The agreements between the Belarusian Academy of Sciences and the Russian Space Agency have been announced in Novosibirsk today. The project has to be approved by the governments. In addition to space subjects, the scientists of the two countries discussed a range of joint projects.
By Maxim Korotkin: The cooperation between the Belarusian and Russian scientists was not affected by the 90’s and continues today in the framework of the Union State. Science expenses are one of the top priorities of the Union State budget.
The first joint remote sensing satellite will obviously not be the last. The project on the new satellite with higher resolution and larger coverage has already been agreed on by the Academy of Sciences and the Federal Space Agency. Moreover, the parties see the need in a whole group of such devices.
The plan must be approved by the governments to become another innovative Union program. A number of topics from joint practical developments to fundamental problems have been discussed in Novosibirsk today.

Much attention in the 21st century will be paid to agricultural technologies.

Among the priorities of the future are biomedical technologies. Lasers, mathematical modeling and information technology are of major importance. And the previously announced project on creating an innovation center of the Skolkovo Fund in Belarus has not been written off.
