President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has congratulated the personnel and veterans of the 127th Guards Red Star Brigade of Communications (Territorial Brigade) on the 80th anniversary of its foundation, BelTA informs.

"The combat history of the unit began in 1943 with the establishment of the 67th separate communications battalion, which in the most difficult combat conditions provided communications to the command of the 24th Guards Rifle Corps. As part of this unit, it liberated Europe, excelling in the Balaton operation, the capture of Bratislava, Austerlitz and Prague, and received the Order of the Red Star for outstanding achievements in the fight against the Nazi invaders," says the congratulatory message.

The head of state noted that today's generation of signal operators continues the glorious traditions of the front-line soldiers, fulfilling their military duty with full dedication. "Your meticulous work is the clearly functioning nervous system of the army. It is you who provide a stable communication around the clock in various conditions, making a worthy contribution to the strengthening of the military security of the state. This would have been impossible without continuous training of specialists and mastering of state-of-the-art communication equipment and systems," the Belarusian leader stressed.

Alexander Lukashenko thanked the personnel and veterans of the brigade for their service and wished them good health, peaceful skies over their heads, prosperity and new achievements for the benefit of dear Belarus. "I am convinced that the soldiers and officers of the brigade will continue to be an example of professionalism and loyalty to the Fatherland," the President added.
