14 декабря 2020
The President visited 4th Minsk Hospital today. Alexander Lukashenko entered the red zone and personally asked if there are enough medicines to treat patients with coronavirus infection. He also talked to the hospital staff. The hospital has 888 beds and 70% of them are for patients with covid. However, the hospital continues to provide all services in its profile, albeit to a lesser extent. And this is one of the demands of the Belarusian leader, not to forget about people with other diseases who also need treatment. The 4th Hospital has been operating for 60 years. Today it is a leading medical and diagnostic institution assisting in the field of urology, nephrology, surgery, and cardiology. In the first wave of the epidemic, the hospital was redesigned to treat COVID-19.

"You have to understand that besides COVID patients, there are enough others: cardiovascular, diabetics, and oncology. Therefore, you are doing the right thing, when curing people with other diseases. The most important thing is to stay in this bed frame. It is undesirable to expand." According to statistics, 0.31% of people return. This is a good indicator. It means that a good system has been developed, it is advisable to keep it so that cancer beds are not converted to COVID ones, Russian doctors predict a surge in oncology in their country in the coming years: amid the pandemic, fewer preventive measures have been taken. "We need to closely monitor this issue. The population must be examined so that we can detect malignant tumors and other diseases in time."

Minsk hospital became the fourth one, visited by the head of state during the active fight against coronavirus. Earlier, Alexander Lukashenko has already visited the 6th Hospital in Minsk, Stolbtsy Hospital, as well as Vitebsk Regional Maternity Hospital. Vaccination was discussed today at the meeting.
