By Antonina Stankevich: Cultural, sporting, educational and festive celebrations will begin a few days before the main date. A big concert at the Palace of the Republic will take place on 1 July, and the opening of the new Great Patriotic War Museum is scheduled for 2 July.
On 3 July Minsk will turn into one big concert venue, with the main festive spot to be located near the Sports Palace. A procession at the Minsk Hero City stele at 21:30 will be followed by a column of military vehicles passing along the Masherov Avenue.
The celebrations will continue after the Independence Day. On 4 July Minsk residents and guests will be able to attend a republican festival of crafts and a concert venue near the Palace of Sports.
