50th anniversary of Belarusian animation

The first animated film in Belarus, "Neznaika Poet" was produced 50 years ago. Since that time, the Belarusian cartoonists have created more than 250 animated films using different techniques. The vernissage of famous artist Alla Matyushevskaya, who created more than two dozen animated films, was held in the Museum of Belarusian Film History.

Alla Matyushevskaya, animation artist: "After the institute, young girls came to work at the animation studio, and once you joined animation, you couldn't leave. We came to work for Oleg Belousov and stayed."

Larisa Finkelshtein, art critic: "The animator artist is a very special person, a person who remains a child, not just a delighted child, but a person who can see that life is a game."

Events dedicated to the fiftieth anniversary of Belarusian animation will be held throughout the year. Exhibitions, film screenings, creative meetings will be held at the Museum of Belarusian Film History and other venues.
