21 European bison fall through ice in Belovezhskaya Pushcha

21 bison have fallen through ice in Belovezhskaya Pushcha, in the territory of the Svisloch District. According to preliminary data, a herd of no less than a hundred animals was crossing the pond on the river Medyanka yesterday. All the dead animals were retrieved from under the ice. A special commission is working on the place. One more ten-to-eleven-month old bison was found separately, it might have been gnawed by predators.
