Minsk half marathon to be held on September 12, 2021

Following a good tradition, Minsk half marathon will be held on the City Day. Tomorrow, the amateurs will go to conquer the streets of the capital. There will be three distances, as before including 21, 10 and 5.5 kilometers. The main innovation is that no more than 10 thousand people will be able to participate in the mass race. The limitation is due to the pandemic. At the moment, activists from 215 settlements of Belarus have registered. Also, applications were submitted by 500 foreigners from 40 countries and 183 cities of the world. The half marathon route has not undergone any changes. This is a certified track. In order to support the athletes, the organizers have prepared 12 music venues. There will be food and drink points, as well as cooling zones. The middle and longest distance races start on Sunday at 9 am sharp. The participants in the most popular race (that is, for 5.5 km) will start running at 11:45. Due to the half marathon, traffic on some road sections in Minsk will be temporarily closed. Transport will be allowed to take a detour according to a temporary scheme of movement. Sections of roads along Lenin, Yanka Kupaly, Starozhovskaya, Maksim Bogdanovych streets, as well as Nezalezhnosti, Pobediteley and Masherov avenues will be closed.
