13 июля 2016

By Marina Romanovskaya: The XXV Slavic Bazaar Festival will feature participants from over 40 countries, Columbia being this year’s debutant. Flags of the participating countries are traditionally flying near the main festival venue before the official opening of the event. This year, Slavic Bazaar’s flag will be run up for the first time.

Vitebsk is home to the headquarters of the World Association of Festivals. Heads of various music events have discussed traditions and innovations of the festival movement and cooperation prospects during an international conference.

Projects catering for all ages and tastes are being held at several Vitebsk venues. The puppet theatre festival Puppet District has started with a street performance.

This year’s Slavic Bazaar has already seen solo concerts by Sergei Lazarev and Kristina Orbakaite. Less than in an hour’s time, the Summer Amphitheatre will host a show by Maxim Galkin, the special guest being Alla Pugacheva.

The official opening of the festival will take place tomorrow.
