The exhibition includes straw characters, which reproduce the biblical scenes and scenes of everyday life, as well as souvenir dolls in national costumes. There will also be master classes. Some people have already got acquainted with the techniques of weaving belts by the nun Vassa and learn her weaving on tablets. Manufacturing belts in this technique is a laborious process. The average speed of weaving is 20 centimeters per hour for an experienced master.
Nun Vassa, re-enactor, researcher of Belarusian belt weaving techniques: The basis is always the traditional material, traditional pattern, traditional color, because it fascinates me so much that I do not want her to change it. We, actually, do not have to change it, because we are working with the national material. I would like to preserve it and develop in certain directions.
The exhibition, as well as workshops for creating dolls-amulets, will be held in the museum of folk art tell the end of November.
