By Olga Medved: An explosion in Luninets was stages by Belarusfilm Studio. The film studio is currently working on a project "Not a Game". The director is Denis Skvortsov who has already worked on a number of major projects.
In spite of the possibilities of modern computer graphics and special effects, all the explosions and tricks are performed live for the movie. A professional pyrotechnic group is working on the set. Ten stuntmen are involved in the film-making as well.
For several days Belarusfilm’s crew settled in Luninets railway depot. The budget for the explosives remains a trade secret, though. Actors, students, extras and even children were on the set, too.
Roman Korolev, a stunt coordinator, the Chairman of the Stunt Guild of the Belarusian Union of Cinematographers: "We are filming an scene about soldiers who are on leave. They rescue children and women when a train blows up. One of the soldiers dies when a gas bottle explodes. Needless to say, we’ve taken every precaution to guarantee people's safety."
The scene was filmed in just a few minutes. The feature film is being made especially for the anniversary of the Armed Forces of Belarus. It will be released on 23 February, Defender of the Fatherland Day.
