By Inna Pilevich: To mark World Theater Day, the Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater is preparing to premiere the legendary opera The Magic Flute by Mozart. Directed by Hans-Joachim Frey, the opera’s arias are in German and the dialogues are in Russian.
Four seasons ago, the German director staged Wagner’s Flying Dutchman with the Belarusian troupe. This time, the team is international, featuring a conductor and decorator from Austria and a lighting designer from Russia.
The play will be presented to the arts council tomorrow and to the general public on Thursday.
