Museum of Great Patriotic War is achievement of last five-year plan

22 июня 2016

The Fifth All-Belarusian People's Assembly is held on a very important date for our republic. The Great Patriotic War, the bloodiest war of the 20th century, started on this day 75 years ago. The struggle for freedom and independence took the life of every third Belarusian. The coincidence of this sorrowful date with the All-Belarusian People's Assembly emphasizes that we are moving forward, but maintain the memory. The forum began with a minute of silence in honor of the heroes who died fighting for the peaceful sky over our heads.

On this day a lot of visitors come to the Museum of the Great Patriotic War. The new building can be called a true achievement of the last five years.

Even in financially difficult times the state finds means for the construction of cultural facilities. Over the last five years we constructed a new building for the Museum of the Great Patriotic War, the memorial Trostenets, restored museum-reserve Nesvizh, Youth and Kupalovsky Theatres. It is clear that Belarus will continue preserving and reviving the historically valuable objects. It is planned to increase the share of the restored monuments included in the State List of historical and cultural values of the Republic of Belarus from 15 percent in 2015 to 30 percent in 2020.
