By Natalia Bordilovskaya: People’s Artist of Belarus Mai Dantsig, who is celebrating his 85th anniversary today, concentrates on peace and labour in his works. A half century ago, he painted the war he witnessed as a ten-year-old boy.
Dantsig’s paintings The Partisan Ballad and The World Remembers the Saviours, dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the victory over fascism and inspired by real historical events, were included in a post-Soviet art exhibition held at London’s Saatchi Gallery a month ago.
